Resilience has become something of a buzz word within Mental health and Personal Development circles and seems to represent part of a sea change in combating stress and maintaining personal resolve. Resilience has long been within the spectrum of human endeavour but has now become more mainstream.
Resilience can come in different forms and can mean different things to different people.
Whilst neither a Psychologist or a Mental Health professional, I have lived experience of depending on resilience to get through challenging times, including :
Several instances of workplace Bullying.
High stress situations i.e. actual fire evacuation and serious workplace accidents.
Overcoming redundancy and unemployment to complete Business School and migrate to Australia.
Researched over 5000 Australian companies to find someone to sponsor me. Applied to 2500 Companies,got 1 job offer, and am now an Permanent Resident.
As a certified Resilience Coach i can work with you using the PR6 model which is a proven method of inducing positive behaviour change. I can introduce you to tools to help develop your Resilience and also provide an assessment to help you help you with issues including anxiety and stress.
As I have mentioned previously, I won`t work with anybody who I think I can`t help or I feel is beyond my capabilities. I have included a section called if you`re not travelling well which has information that can help you if things aren`t good.
Winston Churchill famously said “When you`re going through hell…..Keep going”……But don`t do it on a regular basis.
Personally, I think of Resilience as the glue that holds us together when everything seems to be falling apart !
